Introduction to semiotic theories of meaning in anthropology, linguistics and other related fields. Focuses on the contextual mediation of cultural meaning through various typologies of signs. Different semiotic methods and techniques contrasted. Analyses developed for broadly cultural and specifically linguistic projects.
