PT 614 - Psychosoc Aspects of Rehab I

Students will develop an understanding of how psychosocial and sociocultural factors impact an individual’s health and their response to interventions. Focusing on creating a therapeutic alliance, students will explore the importance of and build respective professional behaviors and values that will enable future success as a clinician in a variety of settings. Students will explore and apply common psychosocial concepts that impact illness and disability and the individual experience. Using social determinants of health as a framework, this course will prepare students to examine interpersonal relationships among patients, families, health professionals, and society to provide patient centered interventions.
