SW 495 - Field Instr Integration Sem I

This course provides a platform for senior social work major students to review and analyze their field instruction experiences as they begin to establish themselves as social work professionals. Students will use critical reflection and discussion to explore and integrate a range of topics - including practice skills, problem-solving skills, ethics, and theories - with their peers under the supervision of a social work faculty member. Students will develop an understanding of the agency context. As this course accompanies the first semester of field instruction, special attention will be paid to introductory social work practice topics, such as the use of supervision, the management of boundaries, and the practice of self-care. Prerequisites: SW 304, SW 410, SW 305, SW 303 Corequisites: SW 411, SW 491.
