SW Z510 - Generalist Soc Work Prac 1

This course will present an introduction to generalist social work practice with systems of all sizes. It will train students in the use of the knowledge, values, and skills of the profession to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities through ethical practice. Content on assessment will focus on the exploration of client strengths and problems in individual behavior, and interactions between people and their environments. Content will also include the following skills: defining issues; collecting and assessing data; planning and contracting; identifying alternative interventions; selecting and implementing appropriate courses of actions; using appropriate research to monitor and evaluate outcomes; and termination. Particular attention will focus on working with individuals. Prerequisite: Admission to the Online MSW Program or permission of program.
