THEA 508 - Intrmed Acting: Scene Study I Credits: Variable
For students who wish to continue the study of acting in greater depth, this acting workshop approaches scene and monologue work in an organic way based on the principles of Stanislavski. Students will deepen their awareness of the beginning acting techniques and concepts, and learn new psychophysical methods to explore scene work. These new methods and exercises will form the basis for the student actor’s investigation into the root of impulse, intention, character and action. Assignments will involve creative responses that will deepen the actor’s investigation of presence, partner, circumstance and action. Outside-of-class rehearsals and two to three scene presentations required. Repeatable.
