THEA 586H - Acting Shakespeare Credits: Variable
An exploration of the techniques and skills needed to bring the language and world of Shakespeare off the page, alive and onto the stage by investigating the structure of Shakespeares verse, the clues in the First Folio as well as the Elizabethan World Picture and their application to monologue and scene work. Vocal, physical and imaginative exercises as well as the technique of being present and working moment to moment off of a scene partner are used to investigate the language and circumstances of Shakespearean sonnets, monologues and scenes. By permission of instructor. Offerings vary by semester.
