THEA 586Z - Advanced Technical Production

Beginning with a review of the material covered in previous technical production courses, this course will examine more deeply the field of technical theatre, looking at traditional and current techniques in scenic construction, basic stage electricity theory and practice, stage and arena rigging, and 4 types of welding. The course will also introduce structural design concepts used in theatre, and theatrical use of hydraulics and pneumatics and motion control. CAD drafting knowledge is expected. By permission of instructor. Offerings vary by semester.
