This course will provide an introduction to European theatrical design and technology between 1500 and 1750. We will be exploring the theaters of the Renaissance and Baroque periods with respect to their architecture, scenery, machine effects and movement, and lighting, as well as the designers, artists, and technologists who created and implemented them.
