THEA 341 - Stage Lighting Design


Credits: 4

An in-depth look at the lighting design process from conceptualization to realization. Students will learn about the tools and practices used to properly communicate a theatrical lighting design. We will focus on how lighting designers collaborate with fellow designers and directors to achieve a unified vision. This course will utilize a combination of theoretical and fully realized lighting projects to showcase how lighting can be used as an effective form of storytelling. Prerequisite: THEA 203 or THEA 287U: Intro to Lighting Design, THEA 387T: Intermediate Lighting Tech and/or permission of instructor. Repeatable. Offered once per year.
