EML 215 - Speaking Skills For Bilinguals

This course is for undergraduate students who have been in the U.S. at least one year. They should be quite fluent in English and have excellent listening comprehension, but still need work on advanced speaking skills and communicative clarity. Instruction emphasizes pronunciation and presentation skills. Format: Professional class presentations. Videotaping of at least one presentation. Student-teacher conferences. Group and individualized work on pronunciation with English Speaking Assistants. Evaluation based primarily on three formal presentations, homework assignments, and class participation.
