Topics include: reconstructing the post-World War II development of the major instruments of international criminal, human rights, and humanitarian law; analysis of how these areas of international law do and do not inter-act; examination of the major institutional innovations in international atrocity law since the Nuremberg Tribunal including the International Criminal Tribunals for Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia and the International Criminal Court; exploration of the international politics of atrocity law, including the question of compliance, the effects of the current international legal framework, and alternatives.
