ECON 346 - Intro to Financial Economics Credits: 4
Providing a foundation in financial economics, this course offers an introduction to financial decision?making that involves the allocation of resources over time under uncertainty. The course
covers essential concepts, tools, methods and strategies, without getting too complicated or too far into theory. Topics include intertemporal consumption, saving and investing decisions, financial statements and cash flow analysis, time value of money, security valuation, risk and return, portfolio management, and cost of capital. Students will learn how to use a financial calculator and Excel spreadsheet to solve finance problems. No prior finance course is required. Prerequisite: ECON 160 and ECON 162. Offered regularly.
