ECON 437 - Internat’l Monetary Economics Credits: 4
Topics covered in this course are the balance of payments, exchange rate determination, monetary and fiscal policies for external stability, capital mobility, and the international monetary system. Various policy questions such as persistent U.S. deficit in the balance of payments, the debt crisis of developing countries, the European Currency Unit, etc., are explored along with theories. Prerequisites: ECON 362, College-level Statistics, and College-level Calculus (MATH 220 or 224/225). 4 Cr.
