ECON 448 - Economics of Education Credits: 4
This course analyzes elementary and secondary education using the tools of economics. Topics include human capital theory, education investment decisions of individuals and society, measurement of the value of educational inputs, and analysis of recent education policies. We will study these topics using empirical evidence in addition to theory, and therefore some issues and methods of causal inference will be discussed as well. Prerequisites: ECON 360, College-level Statistics, and College-level Calculus (MATH 220 or 224/225). 4 Cr.
