Credits: 3

This course is designed to help students become proficient in qualitative research methods and centers on students conceptualizing and designing rigorous and conceptually sound qualitative research. Students will determine the theoretical framework, which serves as the lens for conceptualizing the study. Students are expected to explain the theoretical framework and then demonstrate how their research design, data collection, and data analysis are framed by theory. The goal for students is to extend their understanding of qualitative research and apply their knowledge by designing and conducting a qualitative study within a particular qualitative tradition. Students are expected to complete the research design, collect and analyze data, and present their findings to the class. Prerequisite: EDUC 622. Offered: even fall semester.
