GEOG 260 - Intro GIS/Spatial Analysis

This course uses hands-on exercise to address practical environmental and urban problems as it introduces students to the concepts and techniques at the heart of Geographic Information System (GIS). A central tool in such areas as environmental assessment, urban planning, health-care provision and population analysis. GIS is a tool utilized through the social sciences and several of the physical sciences. The hands-on exercises encourage students to apply GIS techniques to address real-world issues.
