GEOG 461 - Modeling in GIS


Credits: 4

Building on foundational GIS skills, this course empowers students to apply advanced techniques for data-driven, informed decision-making, tackling real-world challenges in urban, transportation, and environmental geospatial modeling. Special attention is given to data collection, geospatial data structures, automation, and model evaluation. Applications include transportation network analysis, terrain analysis, and fusion of diverse data sources for GIS analysis including remote sensing imagery and other raster products. Prerequisite: GEOG 360. Offered regularly.
