THEATRE FOR ENGLISH LEARNERS, (formerly, Theatre for ESL Speakers) is an ensemble class designed to hone standard American pronunciation and to demystify the process of auditioning and performing in Theatre Department (and other) productions for non-native English speakers. Students will memorize, rehearse, and give in-class performances of short plays, excerpts from longer plays, and monologues, working toward clarity, smooth and nuanced delivery, while learning to minimize foreign pronunciation and cadence quirks. Offered regularly, once a year.
