THEA 325 - Dance Technique II: Ballet Credits: 4
Ballet II is the continuation of Ballet I with more detail on center work in Adagio, Pirouette, Petit Allegro, and Grand Allegro. This course will expand on the development of Classical Ballet in the 21st century. The class will cover the contributions of Arthur Mitchell, founder of Dance Theater of Harlem, and Principal Dancer of the ABT Misty Copeland, and their roles in creating a more inclusive environment for classical dancers. This class is for advanced beginner dance students and is both practical and theoretical. This course is specifically designed for beginning Ballet students who want to continue the process from Ballet I. Prerequisite: THEA 225 or permission from the professor. Repeatable. Offered every semester.
