CS 481A - Multi-Modal ML in Biomedicine Credits: 4
This course integrates artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques with multi-modal data, including categorical, numerical, and image data, to facilitate prediction and decision-making. The focus will be on research design and applying AI/ML methods to address complex challenges in biomedical fields. Students will explore advanced methods in personalized medicine, focusing on the analysis of patient multi-omics profiles and medical images to enhance healthcare outcomes. Collaborative, multidisciplinary teams?comprising both computer science and non-computer science students?will work together on class projects. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse panel of faculty advisors with expertise in various biomedical domains, fostering an interdisciplinary learning and research experience.
Prerequisite: Math 227 (Calc II) or instructor approval. Offered every semester.
