CHIN 101 - ElementaryChinese I NoBackgrnd

A foundational course designed to enable students to conduct basic-level communication in Mandarin Chinese. This course is for students with no previous formal training or very limited prior knowledge of Chinese. Upon completion, students will be able to converse in Mandarin on basic communication topics such as greetings, self-introduction, family matters, invitations, appointments, simple shopping, and basic transportation. Students will also be able to read and write short dialogues in Chinese characters on the topics covered. Offered in Fall, Spring, and Summer. 4 credits.
