CINE 252 - Intro to Film and Video
Video & Filmmaking I is a foundational production course introducing students to camera operation, sound recording, editing, and creative ideation for both video and film. Through lectures, demonstrations, screenings, critiques, and discussions students will develop a wide range of approaches to making moving images. Students will complete a series of individual and small group projects, which will give each student experience in every aspect of the filmmaking process from pre- to post-production. Students will participate in critiques, practicing giving and receiving constructive feedback with particular attention to the relationships between form and content. Upon completing the course students will be capable of making creative films and videos, and prepared to advance to upper level production courses. Prerequisite: CINE 121. Corequisite: CINE 122.
