ECON 466 - Introduction To Econometrics

Econometrics applies statistical methods to estimate and test economic relationships using data. While economic theory examines how variables are related, this course focuses on how those relationships are identified and evaluated empirically. After reviewing key concepts from probability and statistical inference, the course covers ordinary least squares (OLS), hypothesis testing, multicollinearity, heteroskedasticity, dummy variables, and other relevant techniques. Prerequisites: College-level Statistics, and College-level Calculus (MATH 220 or 224/225). Offered each semester. 4 Cr.
