GEOG 461 - Modeling in GIS




Builds upon foundations of GIS through conceptual knowledge of GIScience and applied modeling of geographic phenomena. Emphasis is placed on the raster data model across several topical application areas, providing hands-on/practical experience with GIS-based data integration, honing GIS methodological design, and exposure to a variety of modeling approaches (cost distance, site suitability, hydrological). Prerequisite: GEOG 360. Offered regularly. Course fee applies. Refer to the Schedule of Classes. 4 credits.
