ME 421 - Mechanical Vibrations

Free vibration of mechanical systems, damping, forced harmonic vibration, support motion, vibration isolation, response due to arbitrary excitation, systems with multiple degrees of freedom, normal modes, free and forced vibrations, vibration absorber, application of matrix methods, numerical techniques, computer applications. Prerequisites: ME 274 with a grade of C- or better. Offered in the Spring semester and the summer session. 3 credits
