EML 720 - Writing for Professionals

This course is for students who have a basic command of English but whose skills still need improvement. There is a strong emphasis on writing, but this course also provides opportunities for practice in reading, speaking and listening. This course is a variable credit course, pass/fail, offered based on need. Format: Class discussion of reading assignments. Writing workshops. Revision of writing emphasized through multiple drafts of papers and student-teacher conferences. Evaluation based on several papers, short written assignments, and class participation.
