Linguistics 4+1 Programs

4+1 BA Linguistics - MA Translation Program

Students have the opportunity to complete both the Linguistics BA and the Translation MA in five years. Students should see their advisor early in their junior year to discuss requirements. Interested students should check the Translation Research and Instruction Program (TRIP) graduate bulletin and meet with the advisor in TRIP regarding admissions criteria for the master’s program. Senior year graduate courses typically will be TRIP 560 - Intro to Translation Studies  (Fall) and TRIP 563 - Project Managemnt for Transltn  (Spring).

Students may apply to TRIP for admission to the five-year program in the second semester of their third year. Admission to the fifth year is by application to the Graduate School and is conditional on earning an average GPA of 3.0 in the graduate courses taken in the fourth year.

Undergraduate credits: 126. Double-count credits: 8. Graduate credits: 24.

4+1 BA-MBA Program

Students have the opportunity to complete both the BA in linguistics and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in five years. Students should see their school advising office for questions regarding the curriculum for the undergraduate degree and the School of Management Graduate Advising Office for questions regarding the MBA program.

4+1 BA-MPA Program

Students have the opportunity to complete the BA and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in five years. Students should see their school advising office for questions regarding the curriculum for the undergraduate degree and the graduate program director for questions regarding the MPA program.

Undergraduate credits: 126. Maximum Double counted credits: 18. Graduate credits: 42.

4+1 BA-MS SUST Program

Students have the opportunity to complete the BA and a MS in Sustainable Communities (MS) in five years. Students should see their school advising office for questions regarding the curriculum for the undergraduate degree and the graduate program director for questions regarding the MS program.

Undergraduate credits: 126. Maximum Double counted credits: 18. Graduate credits: 38.

4+1 BA-MA SUST Program

Students have the opportunity to complete the BA and a MA in Sustainable Communities (MA) in five years. Students should see their school advising office for questions regarding the curriculum for the undergraduate degree and the graduate program director for questions regarding the MA program.

4+1 BA-MS HESA Program

Students have the opportunity to complete the BA and a Master of Science in Higher Education and Student Affairs (MS HESA) in five years. Undergraduate credits: 126. Maximum Double counted credits: 18. Graduate credits: 45.

4+1 BA-MPH Program

Students have the opportunity to complete the BA and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in five years. Students should see their school advising office for questions regarding the curriculum for the undergraduate degree and the graduate program director for questions regarding the MPH program.

4+1 BA-MA Anthropology

Students have the opportunity to complete the BA and Master of Arts in Anthropology in five years. Students should see their school advising office for questions regarding the curriculum for the undergraduate degree and the graduate program director for the questions regarding the MA program.

4+1 BA-MA TESOL Program

Students have the opportunity to complete both the Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics and a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) MA in five years. Students should see their school advising office for questions regarding the curriculum for the undergraduate degree and the graduate program director for questions regarding the MA program.

4+1 BA-MS BioMed Program

Students have the opportunity to complete both their Bachelor’s Degree and a Master of Biomedical Anthropology (BioMed) in five years. Students have the opportunity to complete both their Bachelor’s Degree and a Master of Human Rights (MS HR) in five years. 4+1 BA-MS GMAP Program

Students have the opportunity to complete both their Bachelor’s Degree and a Master of Genocide and Mass Atrocity Prevention (MS GMAP) in five years.
