Asian and Asian American Studies Minor

The minor in Asian and Asian American Studies (AAAS) allows students to supplement their major through participation in a cross-disciplinary program. For more information on Asian and Asian American Studies, visit the DAAAS website.

Minor Requirements
The AAAS minor consists of 6 courses and requires the following: - At least 1 course must be considered Asian Studies.
- At least 1 course must be considered Asian American and Diaspora Studies.
- 2 or more courses must be at the 100 or 200 level.
- 2 or more courses must be at the 300 or 400 level.
- 1 or more courses must be at the 400 level.
- There is no language requirement for the AAAS minor. However, up to 2 Asian language courses (CHIN/ JPN/ KOR) may be applied toward the minor.
In addition: - Students must earn a C or better for a course to count toward the minor.
- A course must be 3 or more credits to count toward the minor.
- Language courses (CHIN/ JPN/ KOR) may not be taken Pass/Fail.
- No more than 1 non-language / AAAS course may be taken Pass/Fail.
- No more than 1 course may be an independent study.
- Residency Requirement: At least 4 courses must be taken at Binghamton University.
