General English Minor

The general English minor encourages students to supplement their majors in other disciplines with a meaningful set of English courses, including at least one from the core list below. Students can choose a program of study that fits their needs and interests, with input from departmental advisors.

Course Requirements:
The English Minor consists of 6 total courses (24 credits) in English (ENG), Rhetoric (RHET), and/or Creative Writing (CW) and can be fulfilled through the following requirements. A. Core Requirements
Students must complete at least one of the following courses: Additional Requirements
- A maximum of two courses may be taken at the lower-level (100/200)
- At least one course must be a 400-level senior seminar
- Internships (RHET 495) cannot count toward the minor
- CW 250 and CW 350 can count toward the minor, but due to enrollment constraints, CW 450 cannot
Additional Information About the Program
- Students must receive a minimum of a C- grade in order for a course to fulfill requirements for the minor, and no courses taken under the Pass/Fail option may be credited toward the minor.
