Additional Information About the Program

Course Format

Because public health agencies are often located in rural areas and many employees of these agencies cannot attend a three-hour on-campus class every week, the Certificate in Disaster Management program is offered in an online hybrid format. Each course meets several times per semester on campus. This allows students and faculty to meet in person; provides time for instruction on using Brightspace; allows for hazmat demonstrations, drills and tabletops; and allows students to present their projects.

Graduation Procedures

Students will apply for the certificate they are earning no more than one more semester than the one they intend to graduate; otherwise, they will be ineligible for the award the semester of graduation.
