Forensic Health Advanced Certificate

The Advanced Certificate in Forensic Health is designed to deepen students’ understanding of interpersonal violence and its effects on victims and offenders.

Although the advanced certificate is open to any student with a bachelor’s degree, it may be especially beneficial for professionals in nursing, public health, anthropology, public safety, medical examiners’ or coroners’ offices, and probation or parole agencies.

Upon completing the program, graduates will be prepared to respond effectively to victims and perpetrators of violence, explain the functions of court systems, document evidence collection, and advocate for victim needs.

Program Requirements

The Advanced Certificate in Forensic Health requires the successful completion of three 3-credit graduate courses listed below for a total of 9 credits. The curriculum covers topics such as victim trauma, offender behavior, and healthcare policy, enabling students to navigate the complexities of the justice system and healthcare environments. The program emphasizes delivering evidence-based responses to various forms of trauma and violence, blending academic theory with practical skills.
