German Studies Minor

The minor in German Studies consists of 24 credits completed through the following requirements:
- Two upper-level courses taught in the German language
- German Language Placement requirement fulfilled by completing this requirement (see below)
- At least 12 total credits must be taken at the upper-level (300/400)
- Only courses above GERM 102 may count toward the minor
- German Conversation (GERM 221 or GERM 222 ), Special Topics GERM 241, and the teaching practicum (GERM 491 ) may be counted only once toward the minor.
- At least 8 upper-level credits (two courses) must be taken in residence at Binghamton University
German Language Placement
Students must demonstrate German language proficiency by successfully completing at least two upper-level courses taught in the German language. Students should consult with the Undergraduate Director on what courses they should take to fulfill this requirement.
